[ There will be a small but very determined looking child peering into the amulet for a couple moments before he feels like the thing is "on". ]
Uh... hi.
[ This is working right? ]
I want to get myself a sword here but I don't really know what kind to get.
[ .... ]
So, uh, what's the best kind of sword to have here? Or I guess... what kind do you have if you have one? Even better if you can show me or something.
[ He pauses for a moment to scratch at his cheek. ]
Uh, thanks if you can help?

Actually a fr-- I mean, I bought a katana here a short while back. But I had another weapon with me from home, too.
[He's not too good at projecting images, but in this case Asbel knows the swords well enough to conjur them up in his mind. One's a silver katana and the other is an ornate sword that looks like this!]
So you're a fan of swords, huh?
[Maybe he should be concerned but he was running around with a sword when he was about this boy's age so.]

Yeah! Are you a knight?!
no subject
Well, sort of? Princess Minnie held a knighting ceremony here in Verens last year, so a lot of us were knighted then.
And I did go to a knight school for awhile back home. It was a pretty cool experience.
no subject
[ Never mind that he's... a super saiyan but swords are just so cool and so are knights??? ]
How do I get knighted?!
no subject
[Advising him to do good, heroic deeds seems reckless. Some kids (himself included!) would just go off looking for -- or even making -- trouble to "become a knight faster", after all... Hmmn.]
There's a few ways to go about it, but most people undergo knight training first.
Tell you what, if you're serious about being a knight, I can teach you what I know. But it is a lot of work.
no subject
Really?! You mean it?!
[ He even laughs a little before he comes to scratch at his cheek again. ]
Oh, but, uh... how much does it cost?
no subject
[Which he does, sincerely. He's never actually taught anyone how to be a knight before, but he remembers Captain Malik's teachings well. It shouldn't be too hard, right? Honestly it sounds pretty fun!]
And since this is a trial run program, anyone who signs up early gets in at a huge discount.
[A beat, and then what's probably a warm smile on his end.]
So, it's free.
no subject
Really?! Count me in!
[ That... maybe comes across a little too eagerly but, look, he's excited. ]
When do we get started?
no subject
[Meanwhile he tries not to laugh over the connection, but he's definitely holding back an amused chuckle in person. Hey, excitement's a good sign! There's nothing at all wrong with that.]
Well, great! We can start whenever you're ready!
But, uh, I do have a regular job so it'll have to be in the mornings, after work, or on my days off. But other than that, I'm totally flexible!
[He'll make time for him, he's that kind of person. And he seems like a good kid anyway.]
So what's your name, cadet?
no subject
My name's Trunks.
[ He says this with a smile and a thumbs up since, well, hand shaking isn't happening over the crystal amulets. ]
Do I have to call you Sir something?
no subject
It's good to meet you, Trunks! And nah, we don't have to be formal unless you want.
You can just call me Asbel.
[He doesn't have much practice transmitting images through the amulets, but he'll look down at his own hand and try to duplicate what he sees inside his head. It starts out blurry, but soon enough it focuses and there he is with an answering thumbs up of his own.]
no subject
[ He nods, even chuckling a little at the slightly blurry thumbs up that's given back to him. ]
So, uh, anytime's good when you said, right?
no subject
Of course, some parts of being a knight aren't as exciting as others, but we can definitely break some of that up to do things that are a little more cool. Sound good, Trunks?
[Anytime's good, really. Just don't wake him up in the middle of the night. Even a knight's gotta sleep, you know.]

There's all kinds of manners, how to care for and patch your equipment, memorizing plants and what you can use them for, meditating under freezing cold waterfalls...
[Though the thing that really got him when he first started was learning how to stand still.]
